Manually add video files
I have two rather large directories that boxee scans. One for movies and another for tv shows. My setup uses a EEEBox and a couple of external hard drives. It's not the ideal setup, but it's what I've been using for a while to manage and watch my media. My problem is, when boxee goes to scan the directories, it takes a significant amount of time. While scanning, movies stutter a little.
I have a suggestion that would combat both problems for me. I would like to turn on scanning frequency to once and have a perl/python/bash script automate adding new files to boxee. The script wouldn't be gathering imdb data or anything, it would just call "boxeeadd -t movie awesome.movie.avi" or something similar.
tl;dr - Feature Request: add secondary utility binary "boxeeadd" to manually add new files to boxee in order to avoid long scan times and the higher resource use of a constantly scanning system.
edit: short of that, some documentation on the database file would be fine too. for example, if I add a file to it but don't supply any additional information, will boxee fetch the rest? or will it assume that since it's in the database it's already been fetched?
