    Default Problems with video feeds

I am trying to watch Pakistani TV. Here is what I tried:

Step 1: I went to idesitv and watched the video stream online (http://www.idesitv.com/pakistantv.php). I did a view source and extracted "http://94.75.220.137/idesitv.com-pakistantv-0339dd3?WMContentBitrate=600000".
Step2: I tried to add this as an RSS feed to Boxee. It failed with an error message "Invalid Feed (#12)".
Step 3: I tried to simplify the URL by using tinyURL. It became (http://tinyurl.com/PakistaniTV). That didn't work either.

    Questions:
    Question 1: What is wrong?
Question 2: Why will this feed not work? Are there certain types of feeds that will not work? What is an invalid Feed?
Question 3: What should I try to do instead?

    Thanks,
    Ata

This is not an RSS feed. Try adding it as a Manual Source under Settings / Sources. Not sure if this will work or not. If it doesn't, please post the boxee.log.

Will do. I'll post the results later today.

In the meantime, could you please educate me a little. What kinds of feeds work? How are RSS feeds video streams (I thought they were xml)? Is there a difference between manual feeds vs. RSS feeds?

    Thanks,
    Ata

Tried adding the feed manually (http://www.tinyurl.com/Pakistanitv). Fail. When I click play, the spinny comes on for a few seconds and then leaves. I am back to where I was before and nothing happened. What gives?

So I'm back to the questions I asked in the last post: What kinds of feeds work? How are RSS feeds video streams (I thought they were xml)? Is there a difference between manual feeds vs. RSS feeds?

    Thanks,
    Ata
