Default Any news on street date for Iomega TV with Boxee?

Curious if anyone has heard a street date announced for the Iomega TV with Boxee that was introduced at CES? Thought it was due out in February. Any news is appreciated. Thanks.

You may want to try contacting Iomega since this is "their" box...

Confirmed: According to an Iomega support representative, the release date for the "Iomega TV with Boxee" has been pushed back to "late April." See screenshot below.

    Major bummer.

Thanks for updating the release information. Haven't decided yet which hardware to purchase (currently using an old Windows PC hooked to my TV). I see some advantages in having the 1TB drive of the Iomega, but I could also do that very easily with an additional HDD attached to the D-Link. Appreciate your help.

I currently have 2TB attached to my PC machine, which are at 75% capacity. I'm holding off for the Iomega device:
    • I need the extra HD space
    • I like the smaller form factor
    • I like the idea of a trackpad on the remote
    • I like the concept of Iomega's personal cloud, so I can stream remotely
    • hopefull boxee and Iomega will have worked out most of the kinks in the system by april

Just my two cents. But it'll be hard to wait an additional 2.5 months for its release. hmph :\

Those are all good points. The traditional footprint would fit better in my entertainment center and I'm interested in Iomega's cloud feature as well - I'm listening to my music collection right now via Pogoplug (which BTW works great). However, I am getting tired of waiting...and my wife is eager to get the old PC out of the living room! Congrats to the Boxee development team for getting Netflix resolved today.

I got message from Iomega Europe.

"As I mentioned previously, you will get notified when Iomega TV is available, I do currently not have a release date for this unit."

I think I will go with Boxee Box. I don't have the strength to wait

I think I can wait. I've got a classic xbox with XBMC and a 300GB drive, but it's not enough, especially since its only got 480p movies and TV shows on it.

The Western Digital WDTV Live Hub 1GB is looking REALLY good right about now, but I am holding out for a similar type box with the boxee software.

You know what I dislike .. when people say "why would you want permanent storage built in, just plug-in a USB hard drive". For snowboarding trips or any other kind of trip/getaway, being able to easily bring something with a bunch of movies is really great.

    Exclamation For real or not?

It would be good to really know if this thing is for real or not. On CES 2011announcement (shown on youtube) was told it will be available on February. When I chatted with iomega they confirmed it as mid-March. Now I am hearing it will be on April. More than half of the product announced on CES does not usually make it to the market for various reasons despite an availability announcement was provided. Hope some insider will make a comment - if not in this forum maybe elsewhere that can be googled later.
