    Default Add dynamic range compression

It would be great if Boxee could run dynamic range compression (DRC) on the fly accessible as one of the audio options.

For those of you that don't know, this would allow you to normalize vollume.
(ever watch a movie and the explosions are too loud, while the speaking is too quiet?)

Ideally, this feature would manifest as a slider below the "Audo offset" slider.

Who agrees, or sees some sort of problem with this?

I agree wholeheartedly with you. I am looking to find a way to add the ac3filter to the filter chain used by boxee, it has a great audio normalize and leveling function. I've seen other tv media apps use it as a matter of course. Many of the videos found online do not have their audio leveled to any standard, ac3filter does this for me with other apps I use. The ffmpeg codecs do a pretty poor job at it. VLC and others are bad at it as well.
\If it is a possiblity I would love to find out how.
I also have seen that setting the audio output to down-mix 5.1 to stereo causes a major audio delay, sometimes beyond boxee's ability to adapt for it. 10 seconds plus or minus.

I would love to see this be added to the Boxee Box.

+1 again today, as no-one else has commented.

watching a movie on the box without DRC is just painful at the moment.

if boxee are serious about wanting users to not have a volume control on the box, they need to implement DRC - online sources have such a wide variety of volume levels!

    Default thanks guys

This has been my first and only post, and i'd like to say thanks for agreeing with me (and for having the minimum intelligence required to know what i'm talking about)

i hope for more posts agreeing with me and maybe the fine folks over at boxee will consider this rather than my current prediction of a 4 year back burner...

Are people supposed to create Jira (http://jira.boxee.tv/) tickets for requests, or just post ideas in this section of the forum?
