Skipping ahead in networked media a chore

While skipping in networked media, the seek bar will appear momentarily and then fade out and the only thing visible is the buffering bar. So every time I need to skip ahead I have to skip as fast as I can (please fix button lag on remote too) and then wait for it to finish buffering so I can figure out where I current am and then do the same thing a few times.

For example, I was watching die hard on my computer last night, and then went out to watch it on the box once the tv was free. I made a mental note that I was 51 minutes into the movie. Getting there took forever because I could only see the seek bar for a fraction of the time.
Perhaps you could leave the seek bar up while the button is being pressed, an only fade it out once user input has stopped?

A temporary workaround is to press the middle button and use the fast forward/rewind buttons instead, this lets you see the actual seekbar instead of the buffering. But yeah, it should be changed.

Just use the on screen button that jumps ahead 10 minutes each time it's selected. In a few seconds you are at the 50 minute mark. I've had no issuses quickly going forward in a title. and all my BD ISOs are played over my network(when using the BB at home).
You can also select the chapter to jump ahead as well.

You can get to most any point on local media/files by simply using the ALT button and entering the time you want to go to -- ie.. you wanted to go to 51 minutes into your movie -- you can enter 00:51 after pressing and holding down the ALT button and it will take you to 51 minute into the video -- look up in the top left side of your screen while doing this to see your intended 'time to advance to' in the BBox

I have a Dell/MCE/IR remote (pictured in the attachment) that this can be done with - and the Rii remote allows for this also

With both remotes mentioned I can advance/revert to any time period on the local content while playing it

Update - and if I hold down on the FF or RW buttons on the Dell/MCE/IR remote the video on the BBox advances "Veeery Rapidly!!" to any point on the video/file

You can hold down the button on the current Boxee remote to go ahead very quickly. But you don't see the picture moving or a time stamp. Holding it down for a few seconds FF/REW 30 minutes.

I prefer the 10 minute jump button. I can go through 2 hours of a title in 12 presses or a few seconds and you see the time stamp while doing it and the picture changes almost instantly when viewing it over the network.
