Lightbulb 2.3 Remote (Harmony, Universal, etc.)

    Hello all...

Boxee has amazing potential, and I'm thrilled to be a part of the process.

Does anyone know if the new 2.3 update's ability to learn new IR remote signals can allow us to have more buttons/control over things in Boxee?

I have a Logitech Harmony remote, and I'd very much like to make the Stop button actually stop, the pause button actually pause, the back button go back once (in the menus), so on and so forth.

I can do rudimentary controls with it, duplicating the contextual use of buttons on the little Apple remote, but its very awkward, especially coming from XBMC on an old Xbox.

    Anyone have any thoughts/insight?

    Thanks....

I have a harmony remote as well. I've noticed that with 2.3 I've been able to play, pause, rewind and forward by pressing the controls, but I think you have to press them twice. First press brings up the menu as if you pressed the center button, and then if you press it again it does what its supposed to. However, stop doesn't seem to work...

I'm looking for page up/down function... thats all i want.

Also, on a side note (not to jack your post or anything but), has anyone been having problems with the remote when in Apple TV? Not with Boxee, but with the apple TV software? Its been freezing up on me every now and then, and not very responsive. I'm not sure if its because of my universal remote, 2.3, or Boxee...

    Good to know...

I guess (again coming from XBMC on Xbox) I'm looking for "even better" usability here. With the XBMC on Xbox, a button for back would take you back, a "menu" button would take you to the main menu, "display" would display more information. "OK" could quickly rotate through the various screen scaling options, etc. It was really really easy to use (and this is a must for the wife)

I was intrigued at the possibility of "teaching" my Apple TV new buttons, and somehow connecting those buttons with actions in Boxee.

I hope that clarifies, and if anyone has any ideas, or at least a good explanation of why (if) this won't work, I'd appreciate it greatly.

    My best...
