    Default Boxee Crash Windows 7

I am running Boxee beta for windows (latest release) and it keeps crashing. The error is:
XBMC: Createfile: xbmc.r15885 error with id 5

and it closes out. Included is the Boxee.log in debug. This happens about 10-20 times a day and I am really starting to get annoyed. I have no idea what triggers it, I play pandora and it crashes, I play netflix, it crashes, sometimes when it opens up, it crashes. I will be watching something and boom, it crashes. I also use plain old XBMC and have no problems running that. Can someone please help me out, I am at my limit and am ready to throw my little media center out the window lol. Thanks for those who have the time to answer!

    Gotta ask this stuff first:
When you did a re-install of boxee, did you do a CLEAN uninstall by deleating the Userdata folder when prompted? If not you need to uninstall again doing so, reboot, reinstall.

If you have boxee indexing shares and you get this crashing, then let it finish indexing first.

    Did you update Direct X?
    Did you update Silverlight?
What version of flash are you running with FireFox? 10.1 Add-in hopefully.

I updated Direct X, Silverlight and adobe flash. I did a clean install and removed the userdata folder and still receive the crash. I've been googling this problem all day and still can't figure it out. Thanks for the reply!

Since that looks like an XBMC error code, it might be a good idea to ask them what it means over in there support forums. As you said: a Google search returns nothing.

Without knowing what that error code means, all I can suggest is general troubleshooting tips like running a memory test on your RAM and verifying that your Windows installation isn't corrupted somehow.

I tried running memory tests and checked windows, everything's up to par. I tried checking XBMC support forums and found nothing on this error. I put in a ticket to support, hopefully they will know what's going on, if not I'll just revert back to using XBMC, it's not a tragedy, just love Boxee's user interface and functionality more. I'll keep everyone posted on what I find out, if anything.

It's weird that you seem to be the first to have gotten this error, though. Makes me curious as to what causes it.

    Damn. Bad luck, fella.
