Default Boxee beta for mac updates?

Hello - I've been using the latest build of Boxee for the Mac (0.9.23.15885) for what seems like forever now. Is there anyone working on updating the beta software any more, or is all the effort going to the Boxee Box development?

Sometime later this year, not real date has been given; and yes, pretty much all the development resources have gone to v1.0.x which is only available on the Box currently. However, developing against a single, known/controlled platform is actually going to benefit the OS platform versions down the road.

Not what we were hoping to hear. Maybe it is time to look for an alternate product...

Bummer, I was hoping for a new version soon too. I am running it on a MBP 2.4GHZ with 4G ram running 10.6.6 and it crashes every single day. My husband and I start it up at night to watch a show before bed and every time Boxee has crashed again. Thats the only thing that MBP is being used for right now. Any ideas what it could be?

I started using Boxee before any other and abandoned it around the time the Boxee Box was announced. The flagship commercial products seem to get more attention than the Mac version that doesn't generate revenue.

Check out Plex or XBMC for a viable alternative. Neither are perfect, but so far the XBMC version seems to work well.

I love the fact that there are choices If Boxee isn't meeting your needs then definitely look at the alternatives. And if down the road you want to try Boxee again after it's been updated, then that option will be there too
