In addition which formats assuming it is possible
In addition which formats assuming it is possible
In theory it's totally possible. I think there are plans to do it. The codecs shouldn't really be an issue its just down to content. Unfortunately you can't do a search for 3d as it's too short a word but if you go through the forum I know some people have posted on this topic.

There is currently support for 3D in Boxee today.
You can tell it that it is connected to a 3D TV and u can tell it to push its GUI out in either SBS (side-by-side) or the above and below format (cant remember what thats called.
The Boxee does not however flick the TV automatically into native 3D mode, or SBS 3D mode You still have to set your TV into whichever mode you choose, but it does work.
I've got a Sony HX903 3D capable TV and the Boxee SBS implementation works fine, and it plays back 1080p SBS encoded 3D MKV's fine
There is not (as far as I am aware) a way to encode a 3D movie apart from squeezeing a full 1080p for the left and right into a single 1080p frame which will effectivley half the vertical or horizontal resolution - and you dont really need to set the Boxee up in 3D mode to play these SBS encodes back, since they are really just a 1080p frame and its the TV which does the splitting up of the frame back into left eye / right eye.
I didnt notice any depth of field 3D effect on the Boxee GUI, but it did construct a SBS 1080p frame which displayed fine on the Sony in SBS 3D mode.
