If I want to install the Boxee app that I have installed on my Mac instead of having the one that comes in the Boxee Box.... It is possible to do that with a custom bootable Usb thumbdrive ?
I think it can be done. Any comments?

BUMP
want to know too
If it's one not available on BBox, you'd have to copy the app from the mac and make your own repo and host it on dropbox or your own server.
Or put the copy of the app file from the mac on the thumb drive and then sign up for a developer account under your Boxee.tv account and get a key for your box (not the app) so you can run the app as a test app.
Sometimes, PC/Mac/Linux apps don't work on BBox well due to menu format difference. Which is why most that are not on BBox were removed.![]()

I'm pretty sure some apps will work perfectly. Even if the bbox doesnt .have them by default.
We checked every app before blocking it on the new UI (if it failed for some reason). If you find an app that works both on beta and 1.x and for some reason is not available at the box - let us know (jira bug is the recommended method) and we'll fix it!
Creating your own repo for applications that are available in the public app library seems like a waste of time...
