you should clarify that this is only while viewing content through the files browser, not while viewing the movie or shows wall.

It's both. If you browse movies in the movie browser, all the thumbnails are cut off on the 4 sides. The file browser makes sense though because the imager canvas is a square as opposed to a rectangular sothey need todrop it.

yep - looking closer and comparing to my folder.jpg's, they are cropped but i have to say i must have the wrong movies in my collection. on every single one of them the cover art is completely legible and the amount of cropping is so minimal i can't see where any pertinent information is missing.

It's pretty noticeable for Nausicaa of the valley of the wind as you cannot even read that title with it being totally cropped off at the bottom. And The Bridge on the River Kwai while not as bad as Nausicaa, is missing most of the title except the "River Kwai" part.

There are others.

A few of my movies look fine cropped, but many of them don't. And overall, it's just messy and unnecessary to crop the images we are submitting.
