    Default No navigation sounds

Hi All, I'm having a small issue with my box was wondering if anyone can help. I have a new 2010 Samsung surround sound kit hooked up to my Boxee Box via HDMI and for whatever reason I'm not getting any navigation sounds. I have checked settings and they are enabled so I can't for the life of me figure out why it's not working. Can any one shed any light on this? Thanks. Box has the latest and greatest firmware by the way.

Default So, it's not just me!

I'm so happy to see this thread. I've had the same problem since I got my Boxee Box, except I *used* to have nav-sounds, and now I don't.

    I started this thread:

But no one over there knows how to fix it either.

With my Denon Receiver (HDMI setup to 1080P Samsung TV), my navigation sound drops off intermittantly

However on my Bose system, HDMI to 720P) do not have the issue at all - must be a bug with certain receivers??? Or 720P vs 1080P???

I think this is all related to a larger bug introduced with the last Boxee update. It seems that when you watch anything using 5.1 audio, all other audio drops for anything else that uses just stereo. This includes local music files, Pandora and navigation sounds. I've found that rebooting my Boxee Box fixes the issue, but it's a pretty significant bug. I'm hopeful that it will be fixed soon, as it appears to be less of an engineering challenge and more of an oversight on the developer's part.

I have been having the same problem(s) and it's not just solely the navigation sounds. In the latest RC, this is listed:

Fix: On some audio receivers (mainly Onkyo), audio was lost after switching screen

My receiver is an Onkyo, so hopefully the RC will fix this.. as I have not installed/tested it and will only install a full release.

Not only do the navigation sounds go out at random times, the audio output device is not recognized at all and won't do any sounds for anything. A reboot fixes this each time, but it's pretty annoying.

I noticed navigation sounds disappeared after the last update. Sometimes they're there, and sometimes they're not.

I haven't bothered to look into it or check Jira as the sound works when playing my local content.

Yeah, I frequently lose the sound as well.
There is a jira for this bug it seems.
