    What do I need to use Watch on Slingbox.com?

    To use Watch on Slingbox.com, you need a few simple things.

    *

    A previously-configured Slingbox with a broadband Internet connection
    *

    Either:
    o

    A Windows PC, running Windows XP or later, with a broadband connection, and either Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 7 or higher) or Mozilla Firefox (version 3 or higher);
    o

    An Intel-based Mac OS computer running OS X 10.5 or later, with a broadband connection, and either Safari (version 4 or higher), or Mozilla Firefox (version 3 or higher).

    Note: If your computer runs Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and you want to use Safari as your browser, you must change one setting. See the Related Information article below.

    I *wish* Slingbox allowed this. My guess is that Slingbox won't work on Boxee Box, kinda like Hulu+ and Netflix still don't work. On a lighter note, I'm pretty sure the Slingbox app uses Microsoft Silverlight, not Flash, so we'll probably be waiting for a while. SlingMedia working with the Roku and BoxeeBox people is a match made in heaven, though. I'm amazed they are not yet doing so.

    Sling showed off a plugin for google tv that would be sold as a paid app. I don't see why they can't make one for Boxee too.

    It's not hard to find.

    Go to google.com and type in "sling googletv"

    Done.

    Here's one of several articles about it;

    As you can see it is being developed by Sling and will be a paid for application. Sling is closed and proprietary so there are no open source players for Sling.

    I would love to see a Sling app for Boxee, but I think it's not in the cards for a while.

    Just to update this, as shown off by Engadget, there is a Sling app that will be going into beta hopefully next month for Boxee.
