Default Box won't play video previously viewed

Today my box started acting up. I left it paused in the middle of a video, all day as I usually do. I come back to it being "offline". I reboot the router, check network settings, get it reconnected. I play video for a little bit more, but it exits out of the video after it seemingly runs out of buffer(this is normal, It's because the NAS' harddrives were spun down and not able to serve the file quick enough for Boxee). So I restart the video, attempt to finish it, it keeps buffering. Plays about 10 seconds then exits like before. OK, so I reboot the box. Now it either won't play the video or it says it's an unsupported format or corrupted.

I know these files aren't corrupted. I even tested out files that I've played before with this box. No dice.

    What's wrong?

Sounds like an either an iffy network connection (is the box wireless or wired connection-wise?) maybe...

What about a different video file? Or an online video source?

Same thing, rotating blue thingy until i hit the menu button on my remote to bring it back. Tried CityTV, I'm copying some files onto an SD card to see if having something locally will help.

Having a file on an SD card didn't work, just the rotating blue "wait, i'm doing something" dealie.

In your shoes, I'd be tempted to do a factory restore (without doing the "reset settings"), and update from there...

The only other possible thing to try first (complete shot in the dark) is to power off the box, remove the power card, wait several seconds, plug the cord back in and power up the box.

Tried the power cord thing, before. I'll try the factory reset though!

Restore worked for local files. Also I swapped out my router, see if that helps having a more solid connection.

I'm starting to think I didn't need to do the restore, I think my problem was the router. Everything is fine now that I swapped it out.
