Can a mouse work with the Boxee Box

Is it possible to use a mouse with the box? If so, what is the best way to add that functionality?

Yes. Just about any wireless mouse will work.

Some people have been quite fond of the Rii..a sort of trackpad/qwerty combo RF remote.

I'll just mention that mouse support was temporarily removed in the "SP3" firmware update which was quickly withdrawn. It was reinstated in the "RC1" new version of "SP3" which can be manually downloaded - see sticky at top of the forum. So in rare cases someone could try a mouse and it won't work, but if so, it's likely that SP3 RC1 will fix it, or in due course the final official release of version SP3.

If you're interested, I picked up a mouse today specifically to use with Boxeebox. I wanted nice looking, cheap (ish), and a long range. I found this one:

It seems to work quite well with the boxee and has, so far, an incredible range, and it's all a nice, dull, charcoal gray that goes quite well with my living room. Packaging claims a 15 meter range. I haven't tried it that far, but it works well clear across my living room which is just fine by me

It even has a nice little off/on switch on the bottom. For 17.99 I think this is a great mouse option for my boxee.

It functions as much as any other mouse in boxeebox I think. Mouse functionality could certainly improve in the bb. It won't scroll a page down or up by pushing the cursor to the edges; the scroll wheel is still not supported, etc. But it's great for clicking on full screen buttons and for general navigation. And hopefully the browser will continue to improve including mouse functionality.

yea i hope they add scroll wheel support with a mouse on the boxee box..

but with the new improved browser it's great to have a mouse
