Transferring Files

I just got a new hard drive (actually, an additional hard drive) and want to move some of my videos from my local drive to the external drive.

If I just move them (drag and drop), will it mess up all my tags? Do I have to re-scan them again?

If you move already scanned files to another drive you will have to add that new drive as a share and scan it.

Added the drive, shared it, and scanned it. Does Boxee know that I moved the same file from one drive to another?

If it's deleted from the initial drive, then it should show up only one file after it scans. However if the same file is present on both sources, then boxee may show up 2 files.
