This looks like it's standard, perhaps would enjoy its own thread?

Tried reinstalling but still had exact same problem.
Tried reinstalling with Eset Security 4 (Another beta) disabled. Error fixed.
Too many alphas and betas on one system I suppose

Win XP SP3
Boxee-0.9.5.4495
intel E2180
2G RAM
Nvidia GT8800
System locks up as soon as I launch boxee. It displays SDL_app in the taskbar, but fails before filling the screen with anything.
Completely non-responsive, and has to be power cycled to restart.
Tried twice so far.
When I look at the log, it contains a few dozen lines, but it is 1 second long (before the system locks up I assume)
It manages to map some drives, find some display modes, and gets as far as "Checking skinpath existence, and existence of keymap.xml:Q:\skin..." and then it ends.
Should we be pasting log files here? Also, I'm not sure if the bugs should be kept here in the Windows section, or in the general bugs tread.
Off for another try.

On XP Pro SP2
Same results as StarSeed42 with respect to Internet Video sources.
When playing videos and hovering the mouse so the control panel appears, the remaining part of the progress bar seems to flash occasionally, like when it it buffering.
Also, upon first launch, sometimes the mouse pointer does not appear. Need to press keys, or put it into windowed mode, then back to FullScreen to get the mouse pointer to appear.
Windows xp Home Edition

When I downloaded Boxee it wasn't an exe file so I changed it because I guess that what were supposed to do. Right?
Well after the installation I attempted to run it all i got was a black screen with and two command prompts that say "The system cannot find the patch specified"
Help!! i really want to use boxee

I can connect to my account on Boxee.
I can navigate through all of the Internet video menus.
I have problems when I try to PLAY a video though.
On CNN, with short videos, I get the video and audio working, but the video is highly pixelated and very chunky. I played with the settings while viewing but nothing makes it viewable. The settings do appear to change things, but overall, unviewable.
On Comedy Central and CBS, when I try to play something, I just get the spinning "BUSY" icon and cannot do anything other than pressing S and choosing EXIT to get out of boxee and back to Windows.
So far, I'm liking it, but being able to view a video would make it way better. I'll report back as I try more.
I was able to get the "how to add an RSS feed" tutorial video to play, however it died right at the end in an endless loop with the phrase "this is an alpha"...too funny.
Adding RSS feeds kind of works for me. I was able to add them successfully. Cranky Geeks and Tekzilla both just return to the list of shows when you try to play one of them. I got an episode of diggnation to play but the sound cut out after about 2 minutes.
Boxee still hangs periodically requiring an S and then EXIT to get out. Some residual unhappiness as Firefox sometimes won't start and I get the "report crash to Microsoft" boxes. Rebooting fixes it every time.
Windows XP Media Center SP3
I have the same online video issues as others are posting about..
But I also cant set up a drive other than C: as a source. When I select a different drive (H: in this case) Boxee removes the "H:" and replaces it with the whole "C:/users/... bla bla" thing. If I try to change the drive manually, it changes it back to C: as soon as I hit ok.
So I havn't really tested anything and got it to work other than the pictures area.. and I really don't have much interest in that area.
