    Default DivX web streaming (icefilms.info)

Hi all, did a search and couldn't find any information - sorry in advance if this has been covered.

I understand that the boxee supports divx, however I'm specifically trying to access streaming files from icefilms.info. On the computer I can use firefox + greasemonkey addon to run a script to stream the video files. Anyone know if something similar is possible on the boxee?

    Thanks!

Not sure if icefilms will work.
With the browser, you need to download the script and install it, not sure if you install scripts in boxee browser. Also, I don't think the boxee browser has divx (could be wrong on that)

Your best bet is to do what I do. I download the episodes (click download instead of the play button) and save them to a shared folder on my network that boxee can see

DivX web streaming requires a special browser plugin made by DivX, the company, which is not available to the Boxee browser (which doesn't currently support plugins, probably for a lot of technical and security reasons).

So no, it won't work on Boxee. It's just the nature of the technology involved.

I think icefilms.info would definitely be possible on Boxee. All the videos are standard Xvid avi hosted on megaupload.

Megaupload used to have a captcha but doesn't currently and doesn't enforce the 45 seconds waiting time so right now all that would have to be done is scrape icefilms for the megaupload link, follow that link and play the video.

I think this could all be done in python rather easily for someone with experience.

It would be nice if someone could make an app to do it, or add it to navi-x. There is tons of content on icefilms.

Someone wrote an app for XBMC that emulates the DiVX Web streamer. Someone may be able to do the same with Boxee, but so far it hasn't happened.

Lol thanks I've been reading about python for the last 30 min figuring it would be easy to convert that xbmc script for icefilms.

That xbmc script still wouldn't run even if I fixed the skin implementation issue? From what I understand its harder to convert boxee apps to xbmc because some of them use flash but the other way around is easier.
