I love my Boxee

I have been reading the posts in the forums for some time now, and I have to say that my Boxee is fantastic, it is not perfect but with some great add on apps, and a cheap VPN I have no issues that are earth shattering. Firstly Netflix is not important to me, I can access those movies with some apps. I stream from other computers on my network fine, some hiccups but again not that big of a deal. The fear I had was that my wife would have issues with it, well to my surprise she also likes it and uses it all the time. I think many here want a magic box that does not exist. I have also showed it to many people and now many of them have bought a boxee, and a cheaply priced VPN and can now watch whatever they want. For those of you who come here just to complain, I am sorry you have not given it a chance.

Unless of course they ever removed the VPN feature, in which case his requirements would be that of 'a magic box that does not exist'.

But fear not, for I have no need for VPN, therefore no one needs it and everyone should be chastised if they ask about it ever again...

I had wonderful help in this forum and on AVS. I have learned how to configure my network to stream 45 gig mkv files on a wired connection, thus not needing to have to copy every blueray movie on to my usb. I have learned how to rip blueray movies with makemkv, learned how to watch free sports on atdhe. Of course i am looking to learn with a positive attitude.

Initially i bought the boxee box a month ago and without this forum I couldn't get it to work right. i took it back and got my money. Then i started reading this forum, figured lets give it a try again. I did and its working great now. Would I like a product that has no bugs, does everything perfect, and costs 50 bucks. No of course i wouldn't.

Are they better media streamers out their ? ... maybe but i like this one and for my setup its great. I don't have a problem with people complaining about a feature missing or if their box is defective. They released in November for one reason ..... XMAS ... yes XMAS... Were they ready, no. Did they force you to buy it, no.
