Picture Slideshow Shuffle

Love Boxee so far. Using it with NAS storage for pix and video, and it's working well for an alpha, with only occasional crashes.

I would really like to have a shuffle/random feature as a slideshow setting, as the ATV has. Any chance of getting it in there?

Any chance this will ever happen? Seems like a core function of displaying Photos.

Eventually, probably. Boxee is still in beta and still has a number of bugs and new features to address -- can't get to them all at once

well i am also searching for the same. I have also tried to search it on Google but i am not able to find it. So is there anyone that can provide the such type of information. I am waiting for it. All the reply will be appreciated.

Yeal, there are many other picture slideshow software you can choose like Windows Movie Maker, Photo MovieTheater, Proshow Gold, etc.

Yes, but boxee intends to serve as the media hub for a home and that should be a multi-purpose device that uses an integrated interface for various media apps. Certainly you can script a wrapper around photo programs in boxee, but it should serve that purpose and since it is built on the good work of the XBMC core, which DOES support random or shuffle slideshow, you would hope this would be considered a core feature and not overlooked.

After all, this product is aiming for commercial appeal. Shouldn't a basic feature like shuffle play be in it?

bummer, I'm putting together a slideshow for family reunion next month. I was going to bring my Acer Revo and just run Boxee for the slideshow. I need the randomize. I hope this feature gets added soon. Boxee just lost out on a big marketing opprotunity, LOL

It may not be the way it is going to be in the final product, but setting Boxee to show a sideshow in random order is possible. All that you need to do is to check mark Settings > Look & Feel > Screensaver > Randomize and the slideshow will be random.
