Playing .part and .crdownload files

On the Boxee Box can I add extra extensions for part files?

On XBMC which I have on an XBOX I edited the advancedsettings.xml like:

<videoextensions>
<add>.crdownload</add>
<add>.part</add>
</videoextensions>

With .crdownload being a Chrome part file and .part for Firefox.

Will the same work on the Boxee Box? Also how could I get to that file on the boxee box if it exists? does it have an FTP Server?

I got an O'Play but will be trying to get a refund since I cannot add extensions so I want to make sure Boxee Box can.

Users cannot make changes to the filesystem on the Boxee Box -- unless it's hacked, which I don't believe is possible with the latest version.

Then there is no way to play these files on the Boxee Box while they are being downloaded in these browsers without hacking it? or is there another way to get these files to play?
