    Default App Removal

How do you remove Apps? There are way too many useless garbage Apps and I don't see how to remove the ones I don't want.

You can only remove apps from your Favorite Apps or remove repositories that you've added.

For removing an app from your Favorites, select the app; when the launch popup comes up, navigate to the -/star in the top right corner select it and call it good.

Nonsense. This needs to be fixed. Why does Boxee force us to view dozens of garbage apps? This is not a complex issue to resolve. Fix your software so we can put the apps we like on the screen.

Roku allows this. Roku also works with movies and Boxee still does not funtion with Vudu or Hulu.

Think of it like this: the "all" listing is like that roku channel store and the "favorite" list is like the roku "my channels". you can set your default app view to the "favorite" list so you need never see the apps you don't want.

Think I'm missing something on the Boxee Box...

From the "ALL" listing.. I click on a app I'd never use and before it's able to run.. a popup notice appears saying "Installing.." (something of sort). So if it's installing shouldn't there be an option to uninstall it too?

Haven't use Boxee on the PC/MAC for awhile, but I recall that those version have a app removal option. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The apps on the BB are only installed until you reboot the box as far as I am aware. You will notice even apps on your favourites listing come up as installing when you select them first time. Once you reboot again none of the apps are technically installed.

I don't think there is any forcing. In fact I never see all apps until I want something. Maybe your settings are wrong, make sure the settings for apps is to go straight to favourites and not all.

Again, you can control what Apps show up in your Favorites. You cannot control what Apps show up in All (Box) or Library (OS platforms) as that's the Boxee repository.

Think of the Boxee default repository as the iTunes store you see in iTunes. You can't remove what's in the store or even the store itself but you control what songs/apps you purchase and have in your personal library.

Think of Favorite Apps as your personal library -- you can add/remove all you like from your personal library but you can't remove the store.

You can also control what 3rd party repositories you have as well by adding or removing them from Boxee and by adding or removing Apps from those repositories.
