Visualization During Music Playback

Greeting everyone. I have had my Boxee Box for a couple of weeks and love it so far but I do have a couple of questions. Is there any way to change the visualization effects displayed when playing music either local or from Pandora?

I haven't worked with photos yet but can you run a photo slide show with music files playing in the background?

Welcome to boxee!

No, there is no way yet to change the visualizations and it's limited to just the one. Not sure when others will be added. (that default one does suck.)

Yeah, you should be able to start your music and then browse to the photo section and run your slides... But there's no "one click" deal that starts your slides and specific song simultaniously.

This is one of the features that has so far annoyed me. The default visualisation on the boxee software is much better. coloured bars are so boring.

Here I am blessed with a TV whose screen can be dimmed to black from a menu choice, while the music plays on.

Boxee have said that the music side of things is going to be kept on the back burner while they fix/enhance the video side, but a simple menu choice to turn off the visualisation shouldn't be more than a few lines of code that wouldn't impact on the rest of the firmware (I would have thought).

Quick kinda related question.

If you are in the visualization and exit out for slide show or just to go around the menu, the music still plays, is there a way to get back to the visualization? Just thinking ahead for when its one I would like to get back too!

As I recall it, if you go back to the home screen or maybe just display the main Boxee popup menu, you'll see the current track name displayed there and you can click on that to get the music display back.

I think I am looking for the same thing as the original poster, but the responses make me doubt myself.

was there a way to change the visualization "manually" before, while music was playing. I remeber some key I pressed before while musci was playing that brought up somekind of context menu of all the visualizations in Milkdrop. I then went up/down and it would change them. It was how I found the ones i wanted to keep or discard inthe visualizations folder. What button was that again? I cant find it and nothing on keyboard is doing it. I want to get rid of a couple of them but need to match name to visualization 1st. Was it disabled in latest release?
2. Not sure what you mean by "only the one."
-are you just referring to Milkdrop? or is the poster referring to picture sildeshow.

Think I misunderstood this post maybe, but does anyone know what button you hit to pull up the visualization context menu that list visualizations by name and you can individually scroll thru to see which is which? Forums and Wiki turned up nothing but I've done this before.
