    Default Media streaming

I would like some advice on the best way to stream media from my PC. I have an external hard drive with a couple hundred movies and songs that I would like to access. I have been using Roxio media streamer which works well most of the time. However, I have found that it does not always find my external drive and prevents access to the library. I have looked at using Windows Media Player but do not like the way that it catergorizes the files.
    I am using Windows 7 and a linksys E3000.

Question? : Is there another software package (Orb is way to slow) or easier way to stream from my PC in one room to Boxee?

Thanks for any advice in advance.

Well, what device is Boxee installed on? Or do you have a Boxee Box?

Why not just have the HTPC/Boxee Box pull from a (Windows) network share on your PC with all of the media on it?

Then you want to do this:

Boxee Box pull from a (Windows) network share on your PC with all of the media on it?
Share the media folders via Windows and then on the Boxee Box, add those folders to your Local Sources.
