Better Music Support

Boxee is very good, and the one thing holding me back from using it full time is its music support. Its nice how it displays the artist then drills down into the albums. But what If I want to play all the music from an artist and not just one album? Or what if I want to make a playlist for a party I am having?

If Boxee had a playlist tab and a song tab that would be awesome so I could make playlist and so I could play all my music on shuffle

All the devices I have ever used since today are all not so good when it comes to music support.

So I use Logitech Squeezebox Duet, which is a terrific product, not cheap but I have been using it for some time now, and all family members are very satisfied with the product.

If you can create a playlist using some other software (one of your current players or PlaylistCreator has been recommended) and then put the playlist where Boxee can reach it on a network share, then navigate to the playlist and "play" it, you'll be set

(Playlists files are not bug-free for everyone though depending, on where/how your music is accessed when creating the playlist and where/how Boxee Box access the actual music files. I've got very inconsistent results when trying to create playlists for my music files that are stored on a WHS for example. Search the forums for PlaylistCreator for more info).

Howcome is it SO difficult to intigrate a simple and usefull playlist in Boxee?!?

- the music interface is useless without a playlist editor.. All Boxee gives us is a pathetic seach funktion in the upper corner.. Why is that?

Not difficult, just not done yet. Current focus of a relatively small team of developers is video playback and online video content. Music features/improvements is probably a few months.

In the meantime, you can have Boxee browse (via Files/Network on OS/DIY platforms or vial Files/Browse/Network on the Box) to a folder that has m3u files.
