    Default Ubuntu Boxee not starting

    Hi,

I have an old laptop and have installed Boxee 0.9.22.13692.i486 on Ubuntu 10.10.

There is no GL support for the 9600 ATI card but videos are still running fine using mythtv or mplayer.

When running /opt/boxee/Boxee, the tmp log ends with
    Code:
12:38:05 T:3077924736 M:800415744 NOTICE: Default Video Player: dvdplayer
12:38:05 T:3077924736 M:800415744 NOTICE: Default Audio Player: paplayer
    12:38:05 T:3077924736 M:800415744 NOTICE: special://masterprofile/sources.xml
    12:38:05 T:3077924736 M:800415744 INFO: GL: Maximum texture width: 32768
12:38:06 T:3077924736 M:799764480 INFO: LIRC device not found
12:38:06 T:3077924736 M:799690752 FATAL: CApplication::Create: Unable to init rendering system
Would someone with more knowledge than me please help me start Boxee please?

    Thanks,
    Tim

I'd start with looking at the output of 'glxinfo|head -20'.

    Code:
    $ glxinfo|head -20
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Error: couldn't find RGB GLX visual or fbconfig
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
I gather that means my old laptop is not good enough to run Boxee?

Were you running that from an ssh shell, or from a terminal right on the desktop? Certainly looks odd if it was the latter.

I have the same issue, reported in http://forums.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=24005 (I am using intel IGP)

Silverlock, I posted 'glxinfo | head -20' over there. could you take a look?

OP, you could attach '/var/log/Xorg.0.log' here so that there is more info on graphics configuration.

I am running Boxee box on Ubuntu 10.10 and it crashes on startup. Was working fine initially? I am not sure what is the problem now. Any help would be appreciated. Please let me know if any info is needed.

Uninstall existing boxee and install it again may be some problem with Graphics Library.
