Default No shows in My TV Shows

For some reason I cannot get Boxee to recognize/show the TV Shows in my local drive. It has seen and indexed all my movies but the 'My TV Shows' area is always saying 'Boxee is scanning the TV Shows folder... etc'. I have left it over night, still nothing. Just how long should this take? Should not at least some shows start appearing if it is indeed scanning? I have seen advice telling people to press 'a' to see the current status of any scanning that is occurring but when I do that the 'side bar' pops out but there is nothing there about scanning status. I have ensured all my media is named in a manner Boxee will like: showname.seasonepisode.title.filetype. I do not know what I am doing wrong. Any tips?

That's odd considering all of your files are stored locally. It shouldn't take that long.

You might double check ALL of your network configuration settings on this computer, especially software firewall settings. Perhaps something is blocking Boxee attempts to retrieve metadata?

Perhaps Boxee is choking on a corrupt file? You might try looking at the Boxee log files and see if it will tell you where it's stopping.

If that doesn't work, you can try completely removing Boxee, doing a clean install, and try to scan again.

Advice, etc from posts dated before 2010 most likely no longer apply to the current version of Boxee for OS/DIY platforms.

To see the state of scanning, go to settings>>local sources and you'll see the status of each source.

I had a few problems myself getting the TV Series squared away...

Here is something that might/might not help you:
    http://forums.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=22056&page=4

With me, once Boxee decided to scan in the content, it would take forever to identify it, and many times I would scan in 1 series, and Boxee would put the episodes in several different folders/series that it downloaded thinking it was a different series...

I added my TV series in small chunks one at a time by trial and error.
