I hope I haven't duplicated a problem thread but I scoured the site and didn't find anything quite like the problem I'm having.

I got the USB port enabled after a little trial and error. Boxee sees my external HDD fine via the ATV USB port. Indexing seems to be working, albums are being added quite quickly. The problem I'm having is with AFP. I cannot acccess the External HDD (plugged into the ATV USB Port) on my Macbook Pro (I can move files to and from the ATV just fine using AFP), but can't find any option to mount the USB HDD so I can move files back and forth from that (which is my main goal here...that will be my network drive for all computers in the house if I can get AFP to recognize it).

Running Apple TV 2.3.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
