Boxee color issues

im getting similar problems.

I have lready been running boxee .9 on ubuntu 11.10 so i already had the correct dependencies installed so the install was relativley easy no problems. I installed via the ubuntu software center.

Originally I had to hack the guiconfig file to change the render method to 1, i have tried this method on the latest version but whatever i change it to it does nothing.

there were two config files after i upgraded one called guisettings.xml and one called guisettings.xml~ i deleted the second one but this didnt fix it but boxee still opens.

I have noticed that if I change anything in this guisettings.xml file it will be overwritten when i start boxee so the changes i make are never picked up. Is this file or another one somehwere else? the one i'm editing is in ~/.boxee/guisettings.xml

as far as i can see there is no setting for this anywhere in the menu

Trying to Ubuntu and the ATI video card drivers, but still no success. I read somewhere that this might be a Flash player, but do not know how to with this problem.

Try editing your ~/.boxee/userdata/guisettings.xml to change the render setting:

Open the file in a text editor after closing Boxee, and look for the line

<rendermethod>3</rendermethod>

and change the number to "1"

save and restart Boxee

I assume you're running the 1.5 version of boxee? I'm running .9 on Ubuntu 10.04 (just switched from windows today) and I can't find the guisettings.xml file. I'm looking in opt/boxee/userdata. I'm having this EXACT issue, so your feedback would be greatly appreciated.
