Before I buy a Boxee...

If I buy a Boxee, it will be my third attempt at streaming programming through my TV instead of using cable or satellite. In the past week, I have already bought and returned a Samsung blu-ray player (no Hulu app) and a Roku (the content I watch is only available via "the web" on the Hulu plus app).

Will I have the same problems with Boxee? Most of the shows I like to watch are available online either through Hulu or the website (Comedy Central, CBS), but I only have access to two of them through Hulu Plus on my iPad or through Roku.

Before I go out and buy a Boxee, will I have the same problems?

I appreciate honest answers! I really want something like this to work, but I am continually running into a brick wall. All this content is available digitally, via the web, but I can't stream it to my TV, which is just a giant monitor?

If I were you - I would consider a BBox combined with the PlayOn UPnP server or at least try the Boxee software app with PlayOn - PO needs to be installed on a network connected PC (or a Windows Home Server) whether being used with the Boxee App or the BBox - there were some deals going on for PO recently, not sure if they are still in affect, but with the holidays they should be (email POs' support - support at playon . tv - they'll be happy to let you know) - you can subscribe for a year at a time - or get a lifetime license - "TONS" of content available - and if you do a 1 yr license, by that time the BBox will most likely be offerring most of it natively

PlayOn rocks. Sweet 14 day trial too.

They are good at fixing issues pretty quickly too.
