paying for porn on the internetz is something i never gonna do as there is buttloads of good and free (and legal i.e no warez) porn available..

in my opinion, paying for porn is like paying for sex. some people do it.. i wont.

We crossed a major hurdle in securing the content, we're in the home stretch. Thanks for your patience and we thank the Boxee team for all their efforts. Boxee will be our first public venture to someone else's box, we are big fans of the platform.

Joe- I'll ask our dev team how they did it. I know it involved some collaboration with the Boxee team so I'm not sure if it's something that is easily replicated.

And a self serving edit because I can't resist a promo: We soft launched our Android access last week (ver 2.3 or higher should work fine, I get good playback on my 2.2 though). It's not perfect and needs some design optimizations but if you were holding back because the only mobile access was iToys, fear not! Droid does Fyre too.

I think that's pretty good pricing, but you make a fair point and we're always trying to find ways to maximize the value to you. I don't see a lifetime subscription ever happening, but there are over 40 unlimited monthly studio packages that you can choose from.

I mean if you could offer unlimited streaming for $5 per month in HD quality that is one thing... but if it's just standard def quality and for $10 per month.. that's just not gonna happen I think.

With all the free stuff online I think the ONLY way to set yourself apart is to offer your content in HD with unlimited streaming per month... otherwise paying per scene, etc. is useless... you can go to pornhub.com, youporn.com, etc. and get all the free clips your heart desires (just not in HD).

I guess SOME people will want a FULL movie.. but I would imagine most people don't have use for the full movie and would just prefer clips, etc.

True, we compete with people that steal content others have invested time and money to create. It's a challenge, but so far we've managed to hold our own for the last 3+ years.

Look, some people just aren't going to pay for content be it music, TV, movies, or porn. We get that. What we have been doing is providing an experience better than what you get on the tube or torrent sites. Is there a cost associated with that? Yep. But for people that don't mind paying a couple of bucks for a quick and easy way to watch exactly what they want to watch on their TV, computer, tablet, or phone, we think we offer a pretty compelling value.
