Still having problems here, but I feel like I'm close!

I'm following the steps here but can't seem to get past the login. Here are my steps:

    1. ssh into apple tv, successfully
    2. run the following command in terminal from my laptop:
    rm /Users/frontrow/Library/Application\ Support/BOXEE/UserData/guisettings.xml

--do I need to replace "Users" with something else?

    3. that seems to work, because if I type it again, terminal tells me no such file exists.

    4. when I run boxee, I see a white flash then the login screen, which is where I lock up.

Whats interesting here is after rebooting, if I go back to terminal and run that command, the first time I do it, I dont get the message saying no such file exists.

thoughts?? Thanks for any help, when I had boxee running, I loved it! and am dying to get it back!

    try removing the UserData file

ou will need to ssh into Apple TV. from Linux and Mac OSX, use the ssh command line via the terminal.

    1.ssh frontrow@{ip address}
    2.To retrieve your IP (boxee>settings>general>IP or ATV>settings>general>about>IP
    3.enter Password "frontrow"
    4.rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/BOXEE/UserData/

Welcome to the forums but try not to hijack existing threads. You have a different problem than this thread topic.

Need versions of atv, launcher and boxee but my crystal ball says update to the 0.9 or 2.3 launcher.

Default Boxee on 2.3 still not working

Just had a very annoying afternoon trying to install boxee. Use a usb stick that had worked before. Factory reset my Apple TV and upgraded tp 2.4. Installed atvusb-creator-1-4.0.b10 on patch stick. The patchstick booted apple TV and appeared to install. Restarted Apple tv, it shows me the animation sequence and them I get an Apple logo that intermittently flashes at me. If i try and use the console I get get the following message:

have no clue what to do next.

    Default Boxee will not run

    Hi,

I have a pc and apple tv running 2.3. Yesterday I successfully installed boxee/xbmc and both operated ok. Since then I have added some RSS feeds to my account and altered the screen resolution in xbmc. After that Boxee would not run. I deleted the RSS feeds, reloaded boxee, xbmc and Launcher. Xbmc works fine, but when I try to open Boxee it gives me the log-in screen and when I click on my logo it shows "connecting" for about half a second, then blank screen for a while, then Apple symbol and then back to the menu.

I have looked at some earlier threads with advice about ssh and text inputs. I have no idea what that means, so I hope you can help me with idiot instructions.

    Thanks

    Jim
