How do you input numbers with the Boxee Box remote?

I'm trying to input my router's password, but for some reason my Boxee Box remote won't input numbers. When I press the "Alt" key on the keypad and press a corresponding number key, a symbol appears instead of a number. For example, if I press "Alt + E", the number symbol, "#", appears instead of the numeral "3." What am I doing wrong...?

also check the show password check box below , so you can know you pressed the number and not the character.

Press the CAPS key once. It works like "caps lock". Press it once, and caps lock is ON, press it again and caps lock is OFF.

There is an issue that when you press Caps on the keyboard to get uppercase letters, this messes up the characters you get when you press Alt. If you press Caps again to return to lowercase, you will get the numbers when you press Alt.
