Does this UI change mean it will hide all the Online stuff, if I want to that is?

That's what I'd like to do.

I don't care about any of the online stuff atm, I just got my Boxee for local media (for now) and would love to hide the online stuff.

Search pretty muck sucks for me at the moment cause it always searches online only, so it seems, never get any local hits.

For example, I have 24 episodes of 24 in a local share. So if I search for 24 I'd expect for my local share folder called 24 would be the first hit, followed by online hits.

I'd really like to disable online search completely. A simple option of "Include Online Results (yes/no") would be most excellent.

Another suggestion for you; first, achieve a higher intellectual level above your apparent grammar school education. Once you have done that, get off your hourly job and into the salary reality world and then you may continue to comment on me and many others that may reply back on you for pure pity.
P.S. Am sure you like your Job, make my order with extra-large fries! And yes, perhaps next year you would have saved up enough allowance money to get a second Boxee Box!

Since we are now speaking on your level why don't you supply some constructive criticism. When have you ever seen a company actually say they messed up and try to fix the problem. Avner Ronen emailed me directly to assure me they would fix the issues and since they have pushed one update with another on the way and more on the way with even more great features. So when you jump off your high horse maybe you could help the scene and not just troll.

No, and I don't think you'll ever get to completely hide it.

However, you can configure it so that when you use the icons on the Home Screen, you go directly to your local content only.

Boxee software has ALWAYS been about and has had a focus on online content. It's unlikely that will ever change.

    deedee777,

Sorry, but I have not yet seen anything constructive from your recent posts in this thread. If you accept constructive criticism, shouldn't you at least go by real and accurate stats? And not by making things up or hypothetically speaking? You're getting carried away with this "grammar school education", "parents allowance", and "extra-large fries" stuff. Please stop acting so immature.

If you're all about discussing the Boxee Box, then we're all up for it. No need to be hostile.

It should aggregate both as long as the show has been identified by your Boxee Box. For instance if you has the show 24, when you select it from teh search results youll get both the online and local content. The local content folder shows up 1st, followed by the online content, you should also see tabs, which will break down what the results are made of (episodes, clips, ect.).

As Darci said, Boxee has always had a focus on the online content (especially in the main screen) so its probably never going to go away. With the upcomming changes however, you shuld be able to access you local content more directly though the option changes.

Guys\gals I think it owuld be best to just ingore the users posts, at least until he\shee calms down. There is a nice little feature where you can add the person to your ignore list and then youll only see th persons posts if you uclick "view post", it might save a number of insults and off topic conversations from dragging out...

Well I hope they change their minds.

Anyhow, I have yet to be able to make it show local results. And yes I see the tabs you mentioned.

ITs already populated the series in your local files "shows" section correct? I ask this, becasue without that, it wont show up.

I don't see how me not having any major issues (ie. my Boxee plays all the content I've required it to play) equates to me living off my parent allowance (completely untrue, btw). There's a lot of irony in your posts, and I can't tell if you're simply trolling or you genuinely believe what you're saying has any merit at all.

Just so we're clear, here's the extent of issues I've had with the Boxee Box, so perhaps you can understand why I'm not as up in arms as a lot of people around here.

Music player doesn't do playlists or some kind or artist/album/global shuffle.
Some files won't disappear after rescan when deleted server side.
Some files don't scrape TV/Movie info correctly.

For me, all of these are very minor. It has yet to not play a file I've asked it to; I play mostly mkv's, but have had no trouble with DVD structured files (ie. VIDEO_TS & iso's) & avi's.

Most of the online content I've tried works well such as Revision3, aux TV, Vevo, TVO, CBC's The National & Conan. So, again, no reason to complain.

And for the record, I've lived on my own since I was 18 (I'm 30 years old); put myself through school twice; I have a career with a very success TV/Radio Media company and I live with my girlfriend of almost 4 years. Life is good.

*I realize that last part is completely unnecessary but I don't appreciate people making broad, insulting generalizations about me.
