Fair enough (assuming you don't like the new UI of course). In this case, the veteran QB has been forced into retirement and we're going to have give the rookie his chance, like it or not

No problem with the look of the new UI but it has to be able to throw the ball and right now it can't throw straight. Its throws are all over the place.

I want my boxee box to be like the computer version. It works great. I feel I should have spend the $600.00 for Mac mini and then I would have the boxee box I wanted.

Why can't the DLink box work as well as boxee on my computer?

This addresses all the issues I had with the UI, massive thanks to the Boxee team for being so responsive.

    Awesome.

But this I specifically don't understand:

This has yet to happen. Where are you even getting this?

Per the first post in this thread: "some time next week" -- we're still in that time frame. The previous update was announced as coming in a couple of days and it made within 72 hours of that announcement.

Even so, things can happen, bugs can take longer to squish that first thought or fixing one bug can cause other unforeseen issues, etc.
I'm glad you spared me from writing exactly that. Lose/lose situation for Boxee team right now.

At least avner gave us a rough idea when it will be done. There's always the bug site you can monitor too.

Because it is not a computer and it only cost $200; expecting it to behave like a $600 piece of hardware is insane. I simply do not understand why people can't get this; Boxee put out a beta version of their software for people to play with on computers and receive feedback. Based on that information they released the new 1.0 software with the not-a-computer Boxee Box and are working hard to address any issues users have. they are clearly listening, and responding, to the users. Stop complaining and either except the fact that as an early adopter there will be problems or wait 6 months to buy a Boxee Box.

The problem is in 6 months boxee maybe gone. They are going against google box and roku plus apple tv.

Roku right now is the recommend box by revision 3 twit tv etc. I hope boxee is around in 6 months, but they do have havey competion . Also all game counsels are competing with them along with tv blue ray discs etc.

If I was boxee I would get my software in some TV and blue ray disc player like google has done with Sony.

Don't take this the wrong and im not trying to be funny (this time). But way back in 2006, directv stopped using TIVO and forced everyone to get thier own DVR. It was crap the first 3-6 months. The thing crashed while hitting the guide button and you needed to contstantly reboot the thing. It was really hard to watch tv because every button you would press next could be the button that made it crash, and god forbid if you watching something (because the reboot/restart process was about 5-10 minutes). We were basically beta testing it for directv since the engineers/bigwigs wanted to get it on the market before it was ready.......Anyhow, 5 years later it works like a charm with the same interface that has been tweeked and updated every few weeks. There is hope for this.... The one difference is, there is alot of competition out there for this... Merry Christmas.

Were you giving an estimate of how much the Boxee will cost, was your estimate different than mine. Perhaps you are right and things are to be done whenever they get done, ah but then again maybe because I work for a living everything has a deadline and codes/hardwares/products/blueprints/designs all need an exact deadline of submition but then again it only goes with me been I work for a living.
If I purchased two Boxee without no estimate cost but an extact of $200 each is because I see the not a potential of the product am investing in because it's already the best product out there, but because of the potential of an overall company with its programers/engineers/marketing&sales department to redender number one customer/members satisfaction. To have a great Boxee team give a release date of the next upgrade firmware is only professional and therefore expected. Perhaps once you are in the real world you will understand code and testing is not just code and testing but involves timelines and a great team to make it happend for the overall company's investments that is you and I.
