The upcoming release incorporates minor UI changes. The change from the PC version to the Box version was significant enough to dismay many users. So the change between the PC version and the upcoming version will still be considerable, but the level of dismay hopefully less.

That being said, if I select "My Stuff" at the initial screen will I still be able to access the online streaming services without having to change settings?
    Yes you will.

I'm loving the feedback from both team Boxee and the members of this forum. I believe this is what will help BB to succeed. Long live Boxee!

    Been reading ALOT...

Still have not purchased the BB.
I currently run XBMC Dharma on a Apple TV running Linux os. I also own the WDTV Live flashed with the WDLXTV firmware but tend not to use it as much due to the hassle of making moviesheets for local content. I have 8TB of NAS.

I have used Boxee on my PC and also on the Apple TV when I was running the Apple os. The BB looks impressive and hopefully with a few tweaks will get better. Making an option to pick local or online content as your default is headed in the right direction IMHO.

I wonder if the devs would consider an advanced configuration that would allow the more daring user to choose local artwork or even to change scrapers, or, even better, to use local .nfo files for definitions. Also to define what content the Home screen has amongst other things... (be able to hide things not used)....

I understand that this is an XBMC offshoot. My perfect world would be for the BB to run XBMC and to have it as configurable as XBMC is. Just give me several icons on the Local Home screen: Movies, TV Series, Music, Pictures and I'd be happy. If you want online content, then exit back to the first screen and choose it.... I would prefer one or the other. To have online content mixed with my local stuff is just crazy. Not to mention that in my location there is no ISP so must use satelitte for internet which definately has drawbacks....

So for me to be able to 'turn off' the online content would be great!

I also have many songs scanned in so music content is as important, if not more important to me. I use XBMC 60% for music and 40% for video. It is nice to use the 'play-all' or playlist buttons to start the music playing while you work.... 4 hours later still going strong and no repeated songs. A visualization such as Milkdrop is also a nice touch....

    Keep at it boyz!

If it turns out the bugs aren't fixed, he has his money and can spend it how he chooses. If the bugs are fixed, he can buy the box again and have full warranty/return rights starting at the new date of purchase.

Explain in simple words for the idiots among us, what is so stupid about the original statement?
whats stupid about it is his need to come tell everyone else. nobody gives a damn. if youre not happy with it return it and go away. if youre going to wait for new firmware stop being a bitch and wait like the rest of us who are not coming here just to complain. it seems that for every person for whom the bb works there is one loud mouth baby trying to convert them to their own reality. thats what is so simple. if you dont want yours return it and go away. otherwise theres nothing to talk about.

This might be the dumbest thing I have ever read on an internet forum and that is saying something.

This is a tech support forum, the WHOLE point is to talk about problems with the box.

I was going to write a post about just how stupid and arrogant you come across but I feel it will fall on deaf ears. Needless to say you are completly missing the point about what this forum is about.

This is a forum for people to get help / information about the BBox. That post added no value since nobody really cares if that dude returned his box, kept it, or threw it out the window. That is why he got chastised. Are those words simple enough for ya, idiot?

Excellent news. I only wish my early access status on the Mac version for a couple years got me into the early access group for the Boxee Box.
