Initial impressions and immediate problems

Hi all,
I just received my boxee box a few days ago and have had the chance to play with it for a while, so here are the problems I can see right away.

- The media scanning at the moment is atrocious and there is no way to manually add films or tv shows it cannot find via imdb. Would it really be so hard to allow us to put in a name by ourselves or give some detailed information as to why some films/shows were considered unknown.

-Folder.jpg/tbn "options" are equally bad and it appears arbitrary when one or the other is accepted and also when it even works at all. Please make this option easier to understand or even allow the user to actually select an icon manually.

- Via uPnP (I'm using a synology DS409 NAS) it´s extremely crash prone when scanning networked content Even adding some directories causes an instant reboot and scanning directories via uPnP causes the device to reboot too after a certain point (I guess this is a known problem, causing the device to continually reboot when left on the home screen). Is this a synology only problem or is uPnP simply unusable at the moment?

-The naming convention is requires for media on the networked drives is too restrictive. It would be so easy to expand on that with some simple regex coding, allowing spaces in names is an obvious start.

- I see there is already a promise to give the user the option to base their main menu on local or internet content, as at the moment you cannot choose and it´s all internet stuff. Most of the internet stuff is pretty worthless for people in Europe right now, but I am only really interested in the streaming capabilities right now

That said, it´s replaced XBMC and PS3/360 for playing everything already, I like the simple interface (if sluggish at times) and I've found it plays all files I've thrown at it and it does so well. Audio support is also great.
