Changing to AES didn't work for me initially, so I did a hard reset, and then setup wireless via the wizard again. It's working like a charm now. Now if they can just fix unpnp.

    Unhappy Thomson TCW770 anyone?

    Hi there!

My Box has been working flawlessly with an Apple Airport Base Station, but now I have change my router to a Thomson TCW770. The Box connects to the network, but trying to watch online video (specially Youtube) is a pain, as it stalls once and again.

I have tried using Google DNS, disabling TKIP, even leaving my WIFI open... but the problem persists. I must say I can can watch Youtube videos without a glitch from a computer using the same network in the same room, so I think the problem is some network setting... Any clue about this? The only way I can watch online video now is by using a pair of PLC adaptors!

    Thanks in advance

    Joxe

    Hi,
I've had the boxee box for about a year now without special network issues, always wireless.

I've replaced my router this week to TP LINK TL-WR841N and since then had plenty of issues - losing connection and unable to connect for long periods of time (which are solved without interference in some cases) , very slow connection between pc and box and etc.
Router was defined to use only 11n mode and security was on WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK auto with AES encryption.

Because of the troubles I've had, I decided to reset all settings on the Boxee Box today. That was a HUGE mistake.
I now can't connect to the network AT ALL.
The network is identified when I reach the Wireless Networks screen with a full reception. Entering the password causes a long time of 'thinking' and results in error - unable to connect and check pw. This happens repeatedly and the password was not changed (and other devices connect freely).

I've changed the router settings to mode 11bgn mixed + security to WPA2-PSK with AES encryption and reset the boxee settings again. It didn't help at all.

    Please help

Sometimes the wireless setting will not work. I have to use the wired setting. I mean it is faster and easier than wireless.

    Same probleme here

This Box is really a bad thing I regret to not return it to the store

Try to remove all wireless security from your router make you config with the boxee then restore your security

The problem might not be the box, but your wireless network. Wireless networks never seem to work as well as you hope and there is so much congestion the problem can be wifi in your home in general. Alternatively, some home constructions are bad at allowing wifi to move through the house. I know some houses where the wifi can barely make it across two rooms.

A couple of things to try:

-Disable security on your wifi *temporarily* and see if you can establish a connection
-Change the channel of your wifi. If you are on 6, try channel 1, or 12 or any channel not being used nearby (use something like netstumbler, inSSIDer, etc...)
-If the boxee is physically far from your wifi base station, try moving the base station to the same room, or the boxee to the same room and try everything again
