Thread: Buffering all the time

  1. #1

    Default Buffering all the time

    Hi,
Im running my local content from .RAR archives and it's buffering like 90% of my movies.
Plus whenever i choose another language audio everythings goes out of sync, This makes the Boxee Box useless because in Sweden all we can use it for is local content.

We really need more info to assist you.

What are these file types inside the RAR container?
    What's the bit rate?
    What's the encoding?

    .MKV inside a .rar? Hmmm.....

    What's your video card?

Only thing I can figure is:

1- The double container. The mkv is already compressed....
2- Not all X264 encoding is created equal.

I'd lean towards #2: For reference---

Maybe Prospero424 can swing by and give a suggestion.

Video card? i'm running it from my Boxee Box. This is just bullshit the way this product is performing.

No offense to you guys in here you are very helpfull, But i bought the Box under the impression that it was "plug and play" i don't want to spend 20hrs tweaking the F***NG thing.

if you lose sync when changing language can you seek forwards then back and tell me if that fixes the sync?
are your rars on a usb connected drive or over the local network?

    just to clarify that bug:

after you switch audio streams, there is a brief period (1-3 seconds) where the video may change speed as we rebuild sync with the new audio stream and the video. after that the video speed should be normal, same as the audio.

this is no 1-3 seconds it stays for the whole movie
