Thumbs down Constant buffering with MKV & MTS files

I recently received my new Boxee an have been happy with it except for two issues. The first is minor and more of an annoyance. The second makes this worthless.

1: the remote has no LED to indicate if you have the caps or function key on while typing passwords. Thankfully you can just use the OSD keyboard.

2: Critical: The Boxee does indeed play mkv and mts files as advertised but what they don't tell you is that you videos will stop and buffer ever 1.5 to 3 minutes during the movie or TV show you are watching.

The Boxee is connected to a wired 1gig network that is accessing multiple shares on large raid arrays 1+tb. The files are anywhere from 1.5GB up to 30+GB.

No other device or computers on the network have any problems steaming any content from these sources. When I watch something on the Boxee I can see that it is not using a large % of network bandwidth so I know it is not my network.

This is such scam, yea it plays 1080P video if you want to watch it in one and a half minute segments.

If anyone knows something I don't to help I would be very happy to hear it.

    Thanks,

Did you check the fix-log for the upcoming patch? Maybe this is already adressed?

Well I checked for an update and there was none. I am looking on the site for this fix-log. Do you happen to know where it is located?

    Thank you,

looks like I found the update list. Nothing specific about the MKV or MTS files but it did mention better buffering for blu-ray ISO witch may help. not sure.

If the update doesn't help, then you may want to post some detailed information about your files. I have NO issues playing 1080p mkv files and it certainly isn't Boxee's intent that you're only supposed to be able to view them 1.5 minutes at a time

    Thumbs up New Firmware

Well amazed that a new firmware was released on Turkey day!

New firmware appears to have resolved buffering issues with my 1080 content. Will continue to test over the weekend, but thanks to all who worked on getting that firmware update out.

I look forward to seeing the next update.
