Honey I would either try a factory restore or upgrading via USb, its almost as if you are having troubles contacting the Boxee update server. You didnt block access by trying to stay on .9 did you? (have to ask as this is what others are doing).

As far as Wifi Issues, there was a thread in this foum about a few people who had simillar issues, and they were able to fix it, if you do a search for Wifi youll find it

    I am a technodope.
That's the reason I got this thing.
I mistakenly thought it was going to be plug and play.
I wouldn't even know how to upgrade via usb. Would I just hook it up to my laptop?
I'll search around for wi-fi answers.
    Thanks.

Its pretty much plug and play, but there are always things that pop up when procudts are 1st released. Sometimes it takes a little bit of work to get it working right for you. The good thing is that you ahve a very good community here and staff that is willingto help you work through your problems.

As far as the Wifi goes, I belive it ended up being something to do with the security settings, but I could be wrong, I didnt experience this after I made the Boxee friendly changes.

Follow the link in Darci's post and should find your answer

    I've done everything.
Still won't accept my wifi password.
And it's all lower case letters.

    I'm stumped.
Wrote an e-mail to boxee and 3 days later waiting for a reply.
    This is frustrating and maddening.

Any update on the next firmware update, i'm tired of beta testing the current "final" version.. I want the local support Avner mentioned, and a date other then before the end of the year for netflix (come on there are only 3 weeks left of this year, if they can't set a firm date within 3 weeks the release is highly suspect, it will either be late or a rush job). Everyone that I know personally that bought a boxee box besides me have sent them back to amazon already (last one setup his return yesterday in favor of a wd live and roku, for about $80 less with more functionality).

I saw that announcement, but as far as I could tell it was primarily some UI stuff with "other bug fixes". I'd really like to know what they're classifying as "other", since if they're still not going to address the DD bug then I am going to have to send it back as I still can't use this device to play 99% of my local files. While I care about the "local" prioritized UI, to me personally the focus should be restoring 100% functionality before getting into that stuff, and I know there are still other lingering bugs.

I'll play devil's advocate and say at least half a dozen of my friends have the Boxes up and running and love them (other than the standard gripes which should be addressed soon). I did give a few a hand setting up their shares and network but for the most part it was PnP.

Some of those fixes are listed here : http://jira.boxee.tv/browse/BOXEE/fi...n-issues-panel
