so wait, I'm getting this feeling that people in Canada have access to more shows on their box than people in the US. I mean, with all the shows that actually don't work at all either because fancast is broken (30 Rock?) or because they've disappeared altogether (Conan?).

Is someone at Boxee going to acknowledge that, at the moment, 0 (zero, like in none) major running TV show is available on the box in the US?

don't buy a Boxee Box for strictly online content only... knowing that it will always be there because the big broadcasters can say "enough" anytime and cut the ropes

then would you recommend to buy a Boxee Box for the way it manages local content?

seems to be ironic since it's basically directing to online content by default but I pirate all my tv shows in HD (yeah I have no problem with saying it out loud) ... RSS feed from torrent site and if Boxee Box had faster/easier ways to rescan sources I'd love it even more.

But yes.. I basically bought it to watch pirated content coming from my hard drives The online content never attracted me.... shitty quality with commercials. When Netflix comes to the box I might get it too for the older movies.... new ones I get in 720p from torrents anyway

I can pause the CTV shows. When playing with the full screen option, the play pause button shows up for me on the bottom left. CTV only. They seem to blend the adverts well, so it doesn't give the black screen of pain issue.

Don't you get the opportunity to play stuff from NBC, ABC, CBS etc ??

The amount of content for Canadian's is huge now. With them adding CTV, YTV, TVTropolis, and Space brings the total shows to 200 for us. It includes a large amount of the popular US shows and Canadian based shows.

We get two options for Conan, CTV or Comedy Network

It's pretty awesome now, as only a month ago, there was basically nothing.

Do you access CTV, YTV and space from the SHOWS>CHANNELS>SPACE?
or do you go throught the boxee browser to get at those for now, cuz at this moment those channels dont show up in my list, but i can get them through browser until they are added.

in the end, i agree, i'm quite happy with the content, to the point where i've already dropped my TV package down to basic cable.

Yes, you can browse through the shows/channel list,

Mine is something like this, CBC, CityTV, CTV, Global, History, Spike, Showcase, Space, TVTropolis, YTV (I might be missing a couple)

Or just look in shows "Two and a half men" and "Mad Men" should be a few of the CTV shows visible for you.

Make sure you have your location setting set correctly and check only display feeds from your area option.

I'm on the West Coast and just noticed the new channels yesterday.

hmm, maybe i'll give my box a boot then, cuz they aren't showing.

I"m wondering if keeping the box on all the time isn't good. heh, seems to need a good boot now and then. (I"m central Canada)

EDIT: after reboot, i can see it all now, really awsome. my wife especially loves the fact that HGTV is there now too
