Mac Mini - Remote Lag

Hello all,

Forgive me if this has been covered but I've yet to find a post that talks about it specifically.

I'm putting together a mac mini as my home media server and have got boxee loaded up. Looks like a fantastic product.

The one thing that I'm finding a bit annoying is the lag or non-response I get with the Apple remote. The remote works, but I have to click the button two or three times to get boxee to act on my click. Its like there is some lag or data loss when with the remote's ability to control boxee.

I thought perhaps it was the remote itself or a fading battery, but that same remote controls Front Row with nice snappy results.

Just wondering if anybody else has this issue and if there are any suggestions?

It this only happening with the play button or the others too? I'm having it with the play button. I tried one of the other apple remotes in the house and they all do it, but otherwise work fine (in other apps).

I've got the same problem.. all of the buttons. Sometimes it responds, sometimes it dont... New battery.. works fine with other applications...

Have you checked the remote options? Do you have Plex or XBMC installed?
Should work fast and snappy.

I'm also experiencing this issue. Only happens with boxee. Front row for example is fine.

i have the problem when starting boxee. once it's running, everything is fine.

Just because it's kind of related: I'm having the same problems with the responsiveness to the remote on my TV as well...! Both with the original Apple Remote as well as with the Logitech Harmony, by the way...

I'm using a mac mini as a htpc with an hd tv and sony soundbar and the logitech harmony remote to control them all...before yesterdays boxee upgrade the "menu" function on the remote fired up boxee(previously this would start frontrow) navigation with the remote had some lag but was tolerable. With the Dec.4 boxee upgrade i'm having sporadic things happen with my remote, when hitting "menu" sometimes fronrow starts and sometimes boxee. Once lastnight I hit "menu" and frontrow came up but then boxee started, when I exited boxee frontrow was not running so apparently it shut itself down when boxee fired up. This weekend I will play with my harmony remotes settings.
