From searching the forums, I haven't seen too many complaints about this problem yet.
Like may others I have had initial problems with my Boxee Box, but have worked through most of them. I had resolution problems with 1080i but switching to 720p fixed a lot of that (my old TV doesn't support 1080p). Also did a factory restore and re-upgraded to the latest firmware. All of my local content plays great at this point, streamed over wifi from share drives on my desktop.
However, whenever I try to open up a web-based show, the Boxee Box takes several MINUTES to open up the web page--usually at least 5 minutes--with spinning or scrolling progress indicators while I wait. Typically first an ad will play, then the show will load. Once it is finally loaded, the show plays fine without stuttering.
This problem has persisted for me despite doing a restore and upgrading to the latest firmware. It seems like a problem with the web browser, or maybe loading the Flash player?
Compared to the Boxee beta software on my Mac or PC, on these systems the videos start up in just a few seconds, but actually play with a little bit of stuttering. Once the video has finally loaded on the Boxee Box it actually plays better than it does on my desktop systems.
Anyone else having this trouble or found a way to improve it? Maybe this is a bug that will be fixed in future updates?
Any input is appreciated!
