Default wierd sudden issue on older version, resolved

On version 0.9.20.10711, which I've been running since whenever I d/l'ing it, I was getting choppy playback from tv show websites (ex:NCIS using CBS's stream). I have no idea what caused this. 2 weeks ago, it worked w/o issue. Perhaps the forced upgrade to Flash 10.1 for another reason caused it. No idea really. Checked the forum here and there were no search results for Flash 10.1 when I attempted, my dpi is normal 100%, run other things fine including the shows from websites directly.

In the end I ended up d/l'ing the newest version and installing to c:\users\public and running as admin (as I run every game or media program).

Just thought I'd report in case someone else noticed a problem where things used to be fine and wondered if it was just them. GL to anyone who tries to get answers on these boards.

AMD quad core Phenom 9550 2.2ghz, 6 gb ram, Win 7 Ultimate 64bit, ATI 5770

Well, we don't support any old versions of boxee. If you reported this playback issue with that old version, we'd tell you to update. Updates are made to the program for various reasons and as a result old versions should be updated to ensure proper operation and performance.

No fault of the forums for that...

Just the type of response I was thinking about when I wrote my post. Thanks. You really added to my OP.

Way to edit out the bit about how that version worked fine for a long time and then stopped roughly 2 weeks ago. Way to contribute something like "well, flash 10.1 has been known to cause issues" or "flash 10.1 probably wasn't it".

Do me a favor and don't respond to this thread unless you're adding something besides your amusement at how clever you think you are. The only purpose of this thread is to let others know that someone else has seen a choppy playback issue and that if they recently upgraded flash to 10.1, the newest version may fix it even though nothing else on their system has changed and other flash websites work fine.

*EDIT* edit to note that your second version of your reply post doesn't read like a curt, smart ass reply. Believe it or not, that does raise my opinion of the boxee forum a little bit. Thank you.

Man, you need to relax with the conspiracy theories. Reading waaaay too much into things.

If my actual "edited post" is more to your liking, which I don't recall tying anything inappropriate, then maybe you could edit your own reply to read more appropriately as well?
