Protecting certain folders (password?)

So the reason I bought the Boxee was to stream video from various shares I have. Seems to work great as long as I manually add them - even works from a couple different NAS boxes.

My question is, how do I set Boxee up with the userid & password to do the scan (this works for me already) BUT also require a password to get into one of these folders.

It would be nice if I could flag it as "adult" and have Boxee require the adult access password... OR, be able to leave the password out of the login credentials and be prompted.

This needs some tweaking. As it is I don't want my kids getting into shows like Dexter... or my wife getting into my private "stash"

You could always set up a seperate account for the kids that way they wouldnt ahve access to the files\system. Ive seen this posted in a few places, but Im not srue if anyone has tried it yet.

I guess I could see doing this, but hate to have to log in each time I use the system. Would rather just get prompted the few times I need to go somewhere others shouldn't.

What I do is I have a shared folder with adult content on the computer - I don't add that folder as a source to boxee, but if you go to Files -> Browse and then choose network, the shared folder is listed. I then have to put in the require username/password to access it. Once accessed all of the files are listed.

Hmmm, I will try something like this. So far anything I browse too under that network area doesn't give me a login prompt, just a "could not connect". Something odd about my synology NAS servers that Boxee doesn't like I guess.
