Default Output Audio in Digital and Analog at the same time

So far I'm loving the box. Unlike many others here it works great for me!

I have one issue right now though. My receiver has the ability to output to a second zone, which I run to a set of speakers on my deck. The zone 2 only accepts analog inputs. When I set the Box to output in both Analog and digital at the same time, the feeds coming out over digital (SPDIF AND HDMI) are converted to stereo, so I lose my Dolby Digital and DTS. Is there any way to output to the analog without losing the real digital signals? I would hate to have to go to settings and switch this every time I want to listen to music outside.

    Thanks.

Same question here, I have an Onkyo receiver that I use to power zone two. Zone two takes only analog input. My xTreamer managed both, I'm hoping the Boxee Box can with a tweak too.

I do the exact same thing and was wondering how it would handle that. It would be nice to leave both outputs active and still get Dolby/DTS from the digital. I used to do exactly that on my old PC and it was great. I could switch seamlessly/easily back and forth.

I'll play around with it tomorrow morning and post my findings.

Bug: When changing audio output in settings, you must power cycle for changes to take affect.

M.I.A.: Why did the boxee box remote not get volume buttons? My iPhone boxee remote has a volume slider that works just fine, so native volume control is obviously supported. But it's such a pain to keep two remotes on deck, one for volume, the other for boxee box.

THe BBox "Does" have volume -- while playing content press the arrow up or down buttons

As mentioned in the BBox confirme features sticky - "Auto - Simultaneous output from HDMI, S/PDIF and analog. Audio is downmix to 2 channels PCM"

Suggest your wish to be a futue feature change

    Default Feature?

I happened to stumble upon this thread and one quick thought comes to mind. You have a receiver that only accepts analog inputs for zone 2? I didn't think such an animal even existed. My receiver has multiple zones. Each zone can use whatever input I choose. Yes, it CAN use an analog input, but I'm not limited to that. Are you sure your receiver works this way? If it does, might be time to replace that thing.

My receiver does in fact work that way (most Onkyos do). I have no need to upgrade it though...

I just bought a Denon (1911) and was setting it up last night, and found that it only supports analog output for the 2nd zone as well

So I came here looking to see if Digital and analog could be used at the same time... Guess not..
Right now I have Boxee set to "All Outputs"

Thumbs down analog output and bit-stream Dolby/DTS PLEASE!!

Boxee really needs to fix this.
Most receivers on the market (except $1500+) use analog for zone 2,3.
I have the same problem. I am using a Denon AVR-2310CI, and I would like to enjoy DD and DTS in my main room and when I want to music played in the other room I would like to use the Boxee.
I really don't want to have to set everything to 2 channel.
