Default Windows 7 - "3" screens away from local content

After starting/clicking on the BBoxes home/files screen - I scroll to either the HHDs or the HP Media Server (that has been SMB shared) - and simply choose the "MKV" master folder and then the file/content/movie I want to view

It just took me about 6 seconds in a dimly lit room with the BBox's remote to get from the home screen to a content choice on a HDD located on the wired network - "Easy as 'Cake' - I mean Pie

I'm jealous. I can't get to my windows 7 content at all. I've followed all the guides, and still can't get past the login/password screen.

I had the same problem. After reading posts here I found out it was because I had Windows Live Essentials 2011 installed. I only had Live Mail installed and was hesitant to uninstall it leaving me without my favorite mail program.

What I finally did was uninstall WLE 2011 and I finally got to my network files. I then discovered in another forum that I could install WLE 2009 and then uninstall the Windows Live Sign In Assistant. It's the sign in assistant that is the problem. WLE 2011 does not have an uninstall for the sign in assistant which is why it screws up Boxee.

    Hope this helps

I don't install ANYTHING windows live on my Win-7 Boxes..
Never thought that would inhibit the connection in anyway.
