Question Making the Boxee Box more "Local Content" orientated?

    Hi Folks,

I know Boxee is a engineered as a social online media experience and one of its greatest features is having the ability pull content from multiple online sources at a click of a button.

I am looking on methods/tweaks that can be applied to make Boxee NOT show that online media or at least regulate it to a separate section.

As of now if I want to view exclusively the content available via my local soucres I am required to go to TV/Movies -> Local Files. Its doable and it works.

But I would like to be able to reassign the default view of TV/Movies ALL/GENRE/RECENTLY ADDED as only things that are local appear.

Online media is great and everything however internet connection is not always stable/available. Also having a limited bandwidth makes getting things like 720P Hak5 episodes easier through a downloader NAS than trying to stream it over a internet connection.

In other words what can we do to get a more LOCAL-Media friendly navigation? For my needs most of my viewing will be local media and once in blue moon I may pursue direct online streaming. Having a switch that says "local media heavy vs online media heavy" would be great.

If someone could figure out how to do this along with fixing subtitle problems and rebuffering issues, I would love this box.

    +1 from me as well.

This is my biggest complaint so far of the BBox since it takes twice as long to play a local video file and can't sort it by Genre etc without seeing all the extra online garbage that get's lumped in there.

+1 - it's the hybrid experience that I've been looking for and so far not getting to the extent I had hoped

There should be a toggle in the settings on whether you wish to view online content or local media via the main menu items....

Would you mind if I moved this thread to the Feature Requests section so it doesn't get overlooked in this wash of Boxee Box help posts?
