No center channel on any network media

Just got my Boxee box hooked up and went to stream some DVD rips I had on my local network. So far I haven't been able to get any center channel output when playing my files. So far I've tried DTS 5.1 and Dolby Digital channels and nothing seems to change that. I did change my output from HDMI to optical without rebooting the box so I'll try that first. I'm also getting an issue when changing audio tracks on a movie where the interface freezes for 10-15 seconds before control is restored. The movie still plays which is good but the freezing is kind of annoying. Anyone else getting problems like these?

just an update... it seems that whatever they did in the latest firmware update seems to fixed the center channel issue I was having.
